Concern or Suggestion for our Area? How to lodge a query or complaint…
Should you wish to report a concern, or have a query or suggestion for our Oude Westhof area, we would like to encourage you to report it, using the formal and CORRECT channels to do so.
Please see below easy steps:
- Go to the Oude Westhof website: oudewesthof.co.za
- At the top of the page, go to “Contact Us”
- There will then be two options for you to select from:
“Talk To Us”
“Complaints”
- If you click on “Talk To Us”, it will redirect you to the page showing contact details of our Managing Agents – Nolands – where you can then email them directly, or complete the boxes with your details and message you would like to send
- If you click on “Complaints”, it will redirect you to the page where you can download the “Member Complaint Form”
Please download the form, complete it and then send it to info@oudewesthof.co.za or anelvw@nolandstyg.co.za
We would like to urge you to follow the above mentioned channels, and not report things ad hoc via social media platforms or via message to a trustee.
Oude Westhof WhatsApp Security Portal
We would like to remind all community members of our Security communication group, which is there for the purpose of sharing security CONCERNS (i.e. suspicious behaviour) within our area. Due to WhatsApp Group limitations, we are only able to have a fixed amount of members in a group, and therefore a second Security WhatsApp group was created, allowing more community members to join. It is important to note that you DO NOT need to be on both security groups. If something is relevant, it will be shared to the other Security group, by the OWH Trustees and/or the Welgemoed Safe Control Room as these members form part of both groups.
We urge you to please keep the information shared to these groups brief, concise and as accurate as possible. We are very thankful for all the work that is done by the security members and teams, however they do ask for us to keep the ‘Thanks’ to a minimum on the group as they do not want to block the group with unnecessary messages.
In the case of an emergency, please contact the dedicated Control Room directly by means of a voice call.

Majik Forest Shopping Centre Upgrades
The shopping centre upgrade and renovations are well on their way and nearing 100% completion. Since our last article in September, the Schoon Bakery has opened in the centre, as well as some other new stores like the Cock n Bull, Crazy Daisy, Wellness Warehouse and the change over from the Medicare Pharmacy to Dischem. Construction is ongoing within the parking area still, with the upper deck not yet open to patrons for parking.

Have you met our new Ward Councillor?
In November 2021, Ronel Viljoen was appointed Councillor for Ward 70. Previous positions held by Ronel included Public Relations Councillor of Ward 25 (2011 – 2016) as well as Public Relations Councillor & Portfolio Chair for Community Services & Health (2016 – 2021).
OWMHOA has applied to the Ward Councillor to assist in requesting the City of Cape Town to erect shelters at our bus stops, for the public who make use of them every day. We will hopefully be getting these bus stop shelters some time later this year.
We wish Ronel well in her new position, and you may contact her via mobile or email:

The Van Riebeeckshof Vleiland Conservancy
The members of the Conservancy Board have stepped down, and OWMHOA as well as the surrounding HOA’s have all become members with a seat on the managing board. The Vleiland plays an important role in the ecology of the area and needs protection from unwanted occupation as well as invasive species. Membership of the conservancy is open to any persons and we urge members to join the conservancy as individuals and help fund projects to protect the Vleiland.
If you wish to join the conservancy, please follow the below steps:
Email Anel Van Wyk | Nolands Tygerberg <anelvw@nolandstyg.co.za> at the managing agents for application form to become a member and further details about the Vleiland Conservancy.

Our Furry Friends Say Thank You!
During the month of February, Oude Westhof supported the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) in their charity drive of collecting dried and tinned animal food. We would like to thank all of our members for their support, as we were able to donate a total of 106 cans of animal food to the AACL.

Majik Forest Parking
Did you know there is an additional entry point into Majik Forest?
This gate is situated just behind the Majik Forest Shopping Centre and next to the Day Care Centre Kiddo Kids. One often see’s the small parking area on Van Riebeeckshof Road full on busy days, and cars begin to park on the sidewalk and in the road which is illegal and not safe for our pedestrians and other road users within the area.
We would like to encourage you to please make use of this top gate, especially on those busy days, as there is plenty of parking right by the gate, situated behind the Majik Forest Shopping Centre.

Slow Down on Our Roads
Members are reminded to please drive safely and adhere to the speed regulations in our area.
If you see any incidents of reckless driving, please report them directly to the City’s Traffic Services.
How To Report?
Please call the City’s Law Enforcement, Traffic and Coordination Department on 021 480 7700
When reporting the incident, please ensure you include:
- The location where the traffic violation occurred
- As much details as possible about the vehicle concerned
- The date and time of the incident
Home Security
Did you know that OWMHOA members receive a discount on their ADT alarm monitoring costs?
We would like to encourage all members to have an active and functional alarm system for their home, which is linked to a security company who can assist when there is an emergency.
ADT has been contracted by the HOA to provide estate security in form of armed response vehicle and two foot patrol guards – for further details on how to sign up or to obtain information on their rates and offering contact them as per below notice.

Pre-Paid Electricity Meter Updates
Please read the important information below which has been shared to our area from the City of Cape Town.
